1. Product Types
GentleMao offers the following paid products, all processed through the Apple App Store in-app purchase mechanism:
- Family Plan: Auto-renewing subscription with monthly (NT$120/mo) and annual (NT$990/yr) options
- Big Family Plan: Auto-renewing subscription with monthly (NT$350/mo) and annual (NT$2,990/yr) options
GentleMao does not offer one-time purchases or consumable in-app purchases. All paid features are provided through subscriptions.
2. Free Trial & Try Before You Buy
GentleMao's core features are completely free, and AI features include free trial usage. We strongly encourage you to thoroughly test the free features before subscribing to confirm the Service meets your needs. This "try before you buy" approach helps ensure you are satisfied with your purchase.
3. Subscription Management
3.1 Canceling Your Subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, you will retain access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period. To cancel:
- Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top (Apple ID)
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Find "GentleMao" and tap it
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
3.2 Changing Plans
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time through subscription management. Upgrades take effect immediately, and Apple prorates the difference. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
4. Requesting a Refund Through Apple
4.1 How to Request a Refund
All GentleMao subscription transactions are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple's official channels. Apple's refund policy generally allows refund requests within 14 days of purchase.
Request a refund via the web:
- Go to Apple's official refund website: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find the GentleMao subscription in your purchase history
- Click "Report a Problem"
- Select your refund reason and submit
Request a refund via Apple Support:
- Go to Apple Support
- Select "Billing & Subscriptions"
- Select "Request a Refund"
- Follow the instructions to complete your request
4.2 Refund Review
Refund requests are reviewed by Apple, typically within 48 hours. Apple considers the following factors when deciding whether to approve a refund:
- Time elapsed since the purchase
- Your refund history
- The reason for the refund request
- Service usage patterns
The GentleMao team cannot directly process refunds, but we will do our best to help resolve any service issues you may be experiencing.
5. Consumer Protection Rights
5.1 United States
U.S. consumers are protected by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on automatic renewal subscriptions. We comply with these guidelines by:
- Clearly disclosing subscription terms before purchase

5.2 European Union
Under EU consumer protection law, the 14-day right of withdrawal may not apply to digital content services that have been fully performed with your prior express consent and acknowledgment that you lose your right of withdrawal. By subscribing and immediately accessing premium features, you acknowledge and consent to this.
5.3 Other Jurisdictions
Your statutory consumer rights under the laws of your jurisdiction are not affected by this Refund Policy. If local consumer protection laws provide for broader refund rights, those rights shall apply.
