GentleMao integrates multiple artificial intelligence (AI) features designed to assist pet owners in recording, understanding, and managing their pet's care information. Please read and understand the following disclaimer before using any AI feature.

1. Scope of AI Features

GentleMao currently provides the following AI-assisted features:

• AI Blood Test Analysis
• AI Symptom Assessment
• AI Drug Interaction Check
• AI Weekly Care Report
• AI Dietary Suggestions
• AI Vet Visit Helper
• OCR Report Text Recognition

2. AI Analysis is for Reference Only

Specifically:

• AI Blood Test Analysis provides general interpretations and observation notes on test values -- it is not a formal clinical laboratory interpretation. Reference ranges may vary by laboratory, and AI baselines may differ from your veterinarian's.
• AI Symptom Assessment offers care observation suggestions based on your QoL scores and notes -- it is not a disease diagnosis. Symptom severity and significance require clinical judgment by a veterinarian.
• AI Drug Interaction Check provides general drug interaction reference information. It does not cover all possible interactions and does not account for your pet's individual condition, organ function, or other factors.
• AI Dietary Suggestions offer nutritional direction references -- they are not disease-specific medical diet prescriptions.

3. Not a Substitute for Veterinary Care

GentleMao and its AI features:

• Do not provide disease diagnoses
• Do not prescribe medications
• Do not provide treatment plans
• Do not replace clinical examination and professional judgment by a licensed veterinarian
• Do not establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship

Any concerns or decisions about your pet's health -- including but not limited to starting, adjusting, or stopping medications, changing diets, selecting treatment options, and hospice care decisions -- should be made in consultation with a qualified veterinarian.

4. Consult a Professional Veterinarian

We strongly recommend consulting your veterinarian in the following situations:

• After receiving AI analysis results, if you have any questions or concerns
• Your pet develops new symptoms or existing symptoms worsen
• When considering medication or dietary changes
• When QoL scores show a notable declining trend
• When making significant care decisions
• In any emergency situation (seek immediate veterinary care -- do not wait for AI analysis)

5. Data Handling Practices

To protect your privacy, GentleMao's AI features follow these data handling principles:

5.1 Data Sent to AI

During AI analysis, only pet care-related data is transmitted, including:

• Pet species, breed, age, weight
• QoL scores and trend data
• Lab test values (blood test numbers)
• Current medication list (drug names, dosages)
• Diagnosis information (e.g., kidney disease, tumor)
• Care notes text

5.2 Data Never Sent

The following data is never transmitted to the AI service:

• Owner's name, email, or other personally identifiable information
• Account ID or login credentials
• Phone number, address, or other contact information
• Payment or credit card information

5.3 AI Service Provider

GentleMao uses Anthropic's Claude AI models for analysis. Anthropic's data processing policy states that data sent via API is not used for model training. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details.

6. AI Model Limitations

Please be aware that AI models have the following inherent limitations:

• Knowledge cutoff: AI models have a training data time limit and may not include the latest veterinary research or drug information.
• Accuracy: AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. Even when stated with confidence, AI content may be incorrect.
• Individual variation: AI cannot perform clinical examinations like a veterinarian -- it cannot palpate, auscultate, or observe your pet's actual condition. AI analysis is based on text and data, lacking the comprehensiveness of clinical assessment.
• Species differences: Normal reference values, drug responses, and nutritional needs can vary significantly between species (dogs, cats, etc.). AI may not fully account for all species differences.
• Context limitations: AI can only analyze based on the data you provide. It does not know your pet's complete medical history, environmental factors, or other health-influencing factors.
• Hallucination: AI models may sometimes produce information that appears plausible but is factually incorrect (known as "hallucination"). This is a known limitation of current AI technology.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The GentleMao team shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use of or reliance on AI feature analysis results.
• The GentleMao team makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI analysis results.
• Use of AI features is at your own risk.
• This disclaimer does not affect your statutory consumer rights under applicable law.
